Meet The Howlers!
Marbles
Meet Marbles, our beloved Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix who’s not just a cherished family member but also the heart and soul behind The Hippie Howl. Adopted at just 11 weeks old from a foster home in California, Marbles quickly stole our hearts with her vibrant personality and love for life’s finer things—dressing up, wearing accessories, shopping, and enjoying a delightful puppuccino!
Despite her small stature, Marbles is a true warrior. In June 2023, she was diagnosed with a stage three heart murmur, which prompted us to make significant changes to her diet. Determined to ensure she had the best, we decided to create homemade treats so we could control every ingredient and cater to her specific needs. Then, in January 2024, Marbles faced a traumatic brain injury from an accident. Her survival seemed uncertain, but when her mom whispered it was okay to let go if she needed to, Marbles chose to fight, showcasing incredible resilience and strength.
Today, Marbles continues to defy the odds, proudly flaunting her queen status with grace and determination. Her journey inspired us to launch The Hippie Howl, where each treat is crafted with the same love and care that Marbles deserves.
Ranger
Ranger, affectionately known as "Randy," is an Anatolian Shepherd mixed with a Catahoula. He plays a crucial role in our quality control, making sure each and every treat is taste-tested to perfection. Ranger earned his nickname "Randy" from his Gammie and Uncle, as his personality bears a striking resemblance to the character Randy from the classic movie A Christmas Story.
His favorite toy is his stuffed elephant, Ellie. Ranger is so attached to Ellie that you can never fool him with a new one—he always knows!
Ranger is the sweetest soul you could meet, always ready to offer hugs and cuddles. His loving nature adds an extra layer of warmth to our team.
Theo
Theo, our robust Black Lab-Blue Heeler mix, is the quintessential guardian and friend. With his old-school charm, Theo brings a hardworking and protective spirit to every day. His commanding bark ensures that no stranger gets past him without his stamp of approval—safety first!
Theo’s keen eye for hunting means that any unwelcome varmints in his territory are quickly shown the door. But don’t let his tough exterior fool you; beneath that resolute facade is a soft teddy bear who revels in affection. He adores being petted and hearing how handsome he is. If you’re lucky enough to earn his trust, Theo might even share his prized rope toys, a true testament to his generous and loving nature.
Loyal to the core, Theo is the devoted companion every family dreams of, making him an irreplaceable member of our family.
Nimbus
Nimbus, our spirited Australian Cattle Dog, was named after the magical Nimbus 2000 broomstick from Harry Potter—and he truly lives up to his enchanting namesake! From the moment he joined our family, Nimbus has been the star of every adventure, always eager to take the spotlight.
With an insatiable love for food, Nimbus has a remarkable knack for sensing when it’s time to head to the kitchen. Whether it’s a new treat or a surprise snack, he’s always the first to show up with boundless excitement and anticipation.
But Nimbus isn’t just about food—his fun-loving, outgoing personality brings joy to everyone around him. His playful antics and affectionate nature light up our lives, making every day a bit more magical. With his endless energy and charming ways, Nimbus turns ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
Maylee
Maylee is a charming German Shepherd with a knack for turning every day into an adventure. She trotted into my sister’s life as a puppy, discovering her while she was walking down the sidewalk, and has been a beloved family member ever since.
Loyal and playful, Maylee’s heart is as big as her appetite for fun—and bread! Yes, you read that right. This playful pup has a unique infatuation with fancy loaf bread. My stepdad’s artisanal bread quickly became Maylee’s favorite treat, leading to some comical bread-heist escapades. To keep her out of trouble, the bread now gets a secret hiding spot, but Maylee’s love for it never fades.
When she’s not scheming her next bread caper, Maylee can be found chasing her blue ball, which bounces as high as her spirits. She’s also got a nose for homemade treats and can sniff them out from a mile away. Every visit is a chance for Maylee to enjoy a special snack, making her the happiest dog around.
Maylee’s zest for life, loyalty, and endearing quirks make her a true gem in our Hippie Howl family!
Isabella
Bella, our charming Chihuahua-Terrier mix, is a bundle of love with a heart as big as her loyalty. Though she may be small in stature, her impact on our family is immense. Bella is my sister’s certified emotional support animal, providing unwavering comfort and companionship with her gentle presence.
Laid-back and affectionate, Bella’s favorite pastime is snuggling under a cozy blanket for a nap. When she’s feeling particularly loving or wants to apologize, she’ll press her head beneath your chin—a sweet gesture that melts hearts every time.
Recently diagnosed with heart disease, Bella has faced changes to her daily routine with remarkable courage. She’s not a fan of vegetables, but she’s discovered that treat time is a sacred ritual. What she doesn’t know is that the treats from our bakery are heart-healthy, so she’s enjoying delicious snacks that are good for her without even realizing it!
Bella’s resilience and loving nature make her a treasured member of our Hippie Howl family. Her sweet, snuggly spirit and unique quirks remind us every day of the special bond between pets and their people.
Maggie
Maggie, a beloved Chihuahua, was a true force of nature. Though small in stature, she was as tough as nails and never allowed her size to overshadow her commanding presence. As the guardian of the house, Maggie was fiercely protective of my mother, never letting outsiders get too close.
Her battle with lung cancer, which she faced with remarkable resilience, ended in November 2023, leaving a void that can never truly be filled. Maggie’s love for food was legendary—she lived for every meal and treat, embodying the spirit of a true gourmand.
Her playful nature shone through in every interaction, whether she was engaging with her favorite toys or simply enjoying time with her loved ones. Maggie’s vibrant personality and unwavering loyalty made her a standout companion, and her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Roper
Roper, a cherished 16-year-old Schnauzer, was a beloved member of our family, even if his time with us was brief. His unexpected passing, just hours after Maggie, was a poignant reminder of the deep bond they shared and how he wished to be by her side.
Though Roper was only with us for a short while, his impact was profound. He quickly became a fan of homemade treats, eagerly awaiting each visit from the “treat lady” and always expecting a delicious handout. His quiet persistence was both endearing and comical—if a treat wasn’t promptly delivered or if he desired another, Roper would follow you around until he got what he wanted.
His loving nature and delightful quirks made him a treasured companion, and his memory will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Hershey
Hershey, my brother’s gentle Chihuahua, is the embodiment of a calm and kind soul. Preferring a serene environment, Hershey thrives in quiet surroundings where he can relax and enjoy life at his own pace. While he’s not typically one for playing with toys, he’s been known to secretly indulge in a little solo playtime every now and then.
One of Hershey’s greatest joys is going for a car ride. It doesn’t matter where the destination is—Hershey simply delights in the feeling of the wind blowing through his fur as he takes in the scenery. Each car ride is a mini adventure for him, offering a taste of freedom and excitement.
Hershey’s quiet demeanor and loving nature make him a cherished companion, adding a touch of tranquility and joy to our family.
Ryder & Stetson
Ryder and Stetson, our delightful Schnauzer mixes, arrived in our lives like a burst of sunshine, filling the hearts of my mother and stepdad after the loss of Maggie and Roper. Their entrance was a beacon of hope and joy during a time of healing, and they’ve quickly become the heartwarming presence our family needed.
These mischievous and playful pups are a perfect blend of sweetness and energy. They bring a renewed sense of happiness and laughter into our home, each with their own unique flair. While they share some of the endearing qualities of our beloved Maggie and Roper, Ryder and Stetson each shine with their own vibrant personalities.
Their playful antics and affectionate nature remind us daily of the joy and love that pets bring into our lives, proving that even in the wake of loss, new beginnings can be as heartwarming as they are healing.
